The marine aquarium includes a total of 35 individual pools, which can be divided into several larger groups. In this context, the following should be mentioned primarily.
The Oceanarium: It is a facility with a diameter of 36 meters, a water depth of more than 5 meters and a capacity of 3,700 cubic meters – i.e. almost 4 million liters.
The largest tank at Barcelona Aquarium represents an exodus of Mediterranean flora and fauna. At 14 °C and 18 °C, typical – and large – sea creatures such as moray eels, sharks, rays and sunfish cavort here.
The Mediterranean Aquariums: They are made up of 16 individual tanks with a volume of between 6 and 120 cubic metres of water and offer space for slightly smaller fish and other animals.
Particularly noteworthy are the very individual pool facilities, which depict the Ebro Delta or the underwater world off the Medes Islands, among other things.
Tropical aquariums: Would you like it to be a little warmer than in the Mediterranean? If you are a shark, other fish, coral, mollusc or seahorse in one of these seven tanks with 11 to 156 m³ of water
estimates water temperatures between 23 °C and 27 °C. The Great Barrier Reef and the tropical atoll are a real feast for the eyes. But there is also some exciting information waiting for you at the tropical poison fish tank
and animals on you!
The themed aquariums: Who are you most looking forward to: seahorses? Invertebrates, shark eggs, corals or ‘fantastic underwater creatures’? They all have their own cymbals,
in which they will find everything for their special needs and in which they come into their own once again.
