(Stockholm) At the entrance to Stockholm rises this 24-meter-high fountain that depicts God setting stars in the sky with the help of an angel.
The sculpture was completed by Carl Mille’s assistant, Marshall Fredericks, and installed in 1995.
Originally, the sculpture was to decorate the location in front of the United Nations building in New York.
The rainbow motif refers to the arch as a unifying force and contributes to the sculpture’s function as a monument to peace.
