(Gothenburg)
Around 30 percent of the national seaborne cargo throughput takes place in Gothenburg, making the logistics location the largest seaport in Scandinavia .
There are over 130 direct connections worldwide, including to the USA, the Middle East, North Africa, India and Asia. Seven scheduled services currently run between Hamburg and Gothenburg.
Gothenburg is the only port in Sweden that is able to receive the largest container ships. It offers terminals for containers, cars and other RoRo cargo, oil and other energy products as well as passengers. The majority of the containers are handled at the 80-hectare APM Terminal Gothenburg.
Around 70 freight trains pass through the Swedish port every day. 25 of them are fixed shuttles that connect numerous cities in Sweden and Norway directly with Gothenburg.
